Med Gen returns to ΠΑΝΘΕΟΝ with a new chapter of psychogeographic and field recording studies conducted through the mythological and symbolic interpretation of the reality. Exploring the forests & swamps along with abandoned soviet industrial facilities, underground rivers, wells, and catacombs, Med Gen gathers a wide variety of unique found audio into the narrative of the alchemical myth. From the unsettling recordings of all kinds of fire-producing devices on the first track to the serenity of the deep woods and mysterious clatter of the underground halls as the album proceeds, "Protoblaze" builds a cohesive aural study in the best tradition of the Jungian analysis – examining rather the outer world and its reflections and reaches of the limits of what we usually call "inner self". It's totally up to the listener's interpretation, whether it will be an exploration of your subconscious or the fairy tale about the Fire and its path between the worlds.

«Protoblaze gradually took shape under the strong influence of various European myths and their interpretations, archetypes and symbols from the works of Friedrich Nietzsche, as well as observations of natural processes during long travels. The main theme of the album is fire, not only physical but also metaphysical. The meaning of the narration lies in the single nature of the fiery element and thought or idea, where the latter arises like a spark that generates a fire in the future. The album contains many references on different topics, from the track titles and their order to the artwork and the narration through sound itself». ~ Med Gen

Исследуя леса и болота, заброшенные советские промышленные объекты, подземные реки, колодцы и катакомбы, Med Gen собирает соцветие уникальных звуков, помещая их в повествование алхимического мифа. От тревожных записей всевозможных производящих пламя устройств на первом треке до безмятежности глубокого леса и таинственных перестуков подземных залов, «Protoblaze» строит цельное акустическое исследование в лучших традициях юнгианского анализа, изучая, правда, скорее внешний мир и его отражения, а также его распространение за пределы того, что мы обычно называем «внутренним я». Впрочем, полностью отдавая право интерпретации слушателю, Med Gen не дает четких указаний, будет ли это исследованием вашего подсознания или просто сказкой об Огне и его пути между мирами.

«Protoblaze постепенно формировался под сильным влиянием различных европейских мифов и их интерпретаций, архетипов и символов из работ Фридриха Ницше, а также наблюдений за природными процессами во время длительных странствий. Основная тема альбома - огонь, не только физический, но и метафизический. Смысл повествования заключается в единой природе огненной стихии и мысли или же идеи, где последняя возникает подобно искре, порождающей в дальнейшем костёр. Альбом содержит в себе множество отсылок на разные темы, начиная от названий и порядка композиций, заканчивая обложкой и повествованием через звук». ~ Med Gen
